New Class

I am adding a new class!  It will be a 3/4 year old class on Monday and Wednesdays from 11:30-1:30.  The cost is $60.00 with a $30.00 registration fee.  There will be 2 teachers so we can split up ages and abilities to help students get the best education possible.  Both teachers have teaching degrees and experience working with children.  If you are interested call April at 680-9227.

Back To School Night 2013

Back to school night is set for Thursday, August 29th from 5:30-7:00.  This is a great time to bring in classroom supplies, meet other classmates and their families, and ask any questions you have about the upcoming year.  You don't need to plan on staying the whole time.  There will be a small craft, and a few sign-up sheets for you to look at.  Look for an e-mail in a couple of weeks.  The summer seems to be flying by, and I can't wait to work with a new group of kids!  Have a wonderful rest of summer, and see you all soon!

Look What's New!

To say I am excited would be an understatement.  This is the new mural that is in our classroom, and I cannot wait to see the kids faces when they come back to school.  I also can't wait to see how they interact with this throughout the year.  This was painted by Aubrey Zaugg, who will be a parent this year.  Thank you Aubrey!

Thank you!

I just wanted to thank everyone for another wonderful year.  I enjoy getting to work with your kids, but also getting to know all the parents.  I know that you can take your child wherever you want for preschool, but I am grateful that you would entrust them to me.  As always we have so much fun, and I love watching your children learn and grow.  They all change so much each year, and I am grateful that I get to help them on their journey.  I hope everyone has a wonderful summer.  To many of you, I will see you next year, and to my sweet 4 year olds - good luck in Kindergarten.  I will miss you all!

Life Flight Field Trip

The 4 year old class had a fantastic time at the Life Flight Field Trip.  We always have so much fun, but this year we actually had wonderful weather, and it was so great.  The kids loved seeing the helicopter, and we had fun finishing up our bug unit at the park.  We made some fun crafts, played some fun games, and had a fun picnic lunch.

The 3 year old class had their Teddy Bear Picnic the day before, but I forgot my camera.  As always the kids had a blast.  Thank you to all the wonderful parents who helped, and came to support your child.

Firestation

We always have so much fun visiting the firestation.  The kids are always so interested in what they do, and love getting to sit in the fire truck.  It is one of our favorite field trips of the year.

Thanksgiving Feast

This year we had our feast with all the classes.  The kids are so lucky to have so many people who support them.  The kids worked very hard on their parts and their program, and they did a great job.  I am always so proud of my kids!!

Halloween Parties

As always we had a lot of fun at our Halloween parties.  I can never say thank you enough to the parents who come and help and put on our fun parties.  I am always amazed at the different things they come up with.

The Human Body

My cute Kindergarten kids studied the human body.  We had so much fun making different things that they could wear.  These were by far their favorite!!  It is their vest with their lungs and heart.  We had so much fun learning about the human body.

Fish Hatchery

We always have so much fun on our field trip to the fish hatchery.  We had wonderful weather, and enjoyed the nature hike and seeing the fish.  Of course the favorite is seeing the big fish splash around when it is feeding time.

Kindergarten Supplement Class

I have had a lot of people ask me what the new Kindergarten class is, so I thought I would take a moment to explain my goal for the upcoming school year.  After listening to many parents, they are not to happy with the current system that the school district has gone to for Kindergarten.  After much contemplation and talking with Kindergarten teachers I have decided that there is something I can do about it.  Right now this class is only available for students who are on the Tuesday/Thursday tract  of Kindergarten.  If there is enough demand I might consider another class for kids on the Wednesday/Friday tract.

This class will be a fun hands on class where we will integrate math, science and reading skills.  We will be working in small groups doing many different centers each day.  We will also play MANY reading games that will help the kids learn those essential sight words to help them succeed in reading.  It will also give the kids a more stable school year instead of having huge breaks in between their next school day.

The class will be held on Mondays/Wednesdays from 12:00-2:30.  I realize that they have school on a few Mondays a month, so we will have an occasional Friday morning class.  If you have any other questions about this class, please give me a call.  I would be happy to answer any other questions that you have.

Congratulations Graduates!!

It is always bittersweet for me to say goodbye to my sweet students.  They are always so dear to my heart at the end of the year (OK after about 2 days!).  I ALWAYS cry, but I know that they will be going off on new adventures.  At least the 4 year old classes.  The kids did such a great job on their programs, and I am always so proud of them.  Great job kids!!

End of Year Field Trips

Our end of the year field trips are always fun.  Unfortunately it was cooooold!!  We still went to visit the Life Flight Helicopter, and then finished off our unit on bugs by doing bug activities at the park.  The 3 year old class had a Teddy Bear Picnic, but it was so cold that we had it in our classroom.  It is not quite as much fun in the school, but the kids were good sports.

The Fire Station

This year we went to Fire station number 3.  It was so great.  The kids listened so well, and learned a lot.  They were so happy to be visited by Spot the Fire station dog, and got to climb on the Firetrucks.  They had such a great time.  Thank you for the fun time Fire station number 3.

We had some fun Valentine's Day Party planned by our wonderful moms.  Each class did such different things.  They played some fun games, decorated lots of cookies, and loved handing out their Valentines.  The kids had a great time, and enjoyed everything planned for them.  Thank you for all your help moms!
This class played some fun games.  They had so much fun.  Their favorite was "Don't Eat Pete."  They had a great time playing and could have done that for a long time.

This class made these cute Valentine Bear Treats.  They were fun to make, so cute.  Thanks again moms!

What Do You Do With Candy Hearts?

We had a lot of fun using candy hearts in class. The first thing we did was graph them, the kids did great. We enjoyed comparing them and seeing which colors there were more of. They were surprised to see that each box was very different. After we graphed them the kids made patterns using two different colors. Then they got to eat them, which I'm sure they would tell you was the best part.

Christmas Party 3

The kids had a very fun party planned for them. They started by playing pin the star on the Christmas tree. They all did a great job, and always are so funny to watch when they are blindfolded. Then they had a fun story while they got to have a gift exchange. They made their Santa craft, and then decorated cookies. The kids had a lot of fun, and once again, THANK YOU to everyone for your help. Without all of your support I could never get it all done by myself.
