I Am Different

Whenever we discuss how we are different, kids automatically notice their eyes. We have fun with this, by introducing graphing, and using them as a space on the graph. After we do this, they get a chance to practice with gummy bears. The kids had so much fun doing this, and did a great job. They were very patient, and took their time. They noticed the differences they each had on their graphs, and were very please of the work they did.

Our Upcoming School Year

I am so excited for this upcoming school year - we are going to have so much fun. The classes are almost full, but I still have a few spots left in each class. If you know anyone interested, please let them know ASAP because I expect to be full by next week. We will be having our Open House on Wednesday, September 2nd from 6:30-7:30. You will each be getting an invitation in the mail soon with more information. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Life Flight Field Trip

Last week we were finally able to go on our field trip to see the Life Flight Helicopter. We were very glad that it wasn't raining again! It was a fun field trip, and hopefully help remind the kids how important it is to be safe.

Ladybug Cookies

When we finished discussing bugs, the kids got to make their own ladybug cookie to take home and eat. We used 6 pretzels for the legs, and chocolate chips for the spots. They did a great job, and created their own masterpiece.

bugs, buGS, BUGS!!!

We have been learning about bugs, and the kids have had so much fun. We have learned that a bug has 3 body parts, a head, thorax, and abdomen, 6 legs, and 2 antennae. Yesterday everyone got a magnifying glass, and we went outside to find bugs, then we came inside and painted our own bugs. The kids had so much fun and did a great job.

Play Time!

We have a lot of fun during our free time. The students are doing so great playing together. They love to make up the best scenarios. I think they go to the store a lot because that is where they usually drive in the bus to pick up groceries (sound familiar moms?). They also have so much fun working together to build large towers with the blocks. They love to knock them down and start all over. A lot of the girls will often bring me elaborate meals prepared in the kitchen, and they are very good about cleaning up the dishes and washing them before putting them away. I love seeing their imaginations and hearing them interact together.

Easter Party

For our Easter Party we had a lot of fun. We made patterns with candy to make our own necklaces, then found Easter Eggs, and ended with bunny treats (carrots) and cupcakes.
