Thanksgiving Feasts

Our Thanksgiving Feasts were so much fun. Thanks again to all the parents for coming and supporting your child. They love having you come to their school. We worked very hard on our presentations and the kids did a great job. The kids did a fantastic job creating their potato turkeys with the help of their parents. It is always so much fun for me to meet all the parents and see the kids perform after all our hard work.

Leaves

The four year old class had a lot of fun learning about leaves as they were falling off the trees. They were able to pick out their own leaf, and share the different characteristics it had with the class. They learned how to do leaf rubbings, and all about the season of Fall.

I Am Different

Whenever we discuss how we are different, kids automatically notice their eyes. We have fun with this, by introducing graphing, and using them as a space on the graph. After we do this, they get a chance to practice with gummy bears. The kids had so much fun doing this, and did a great job. They were very patient, and took their time. They noticed the differences they each had on their graphs, and were very please of the work they did.

You will each be getting an invitation in the mail soon with more information. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Life Flight Field Trip

Last week we were finally able to go on our field trip to see the Life Flight Helicopter. We were very glad that it wasn't raining again! It was a fun field trip, and hopefully help remind the kids how important it is to be safe.

Ladybug Cookies

When we finished discussing bugs, the kids got to make their own ladybug cookie to take home and eat. We used 6 pretzels for the legs, and chocolate chips for the spots. They did a great job, and created their own masterpiece.

bugs, buGS, BUGS!!!

We have been learning about bugs, and the kids have had so much fun. We have learned that a bug has 3 body parts, a head, thorax, and abdomen, 6 legs, and 2 antennae. Yesterday everyone got a magnifying glass, and we went outside to find bugs, then we came inside and painted our own bugs. The kids had so much fun and did a great job.

Play Time!

We have a lot of fun during our free time. The students are doing so great playing together. They love to make up the best scenarios. I think they go to the store a lot because that is where they usually drive in the bus to pick up groceries (sound familiar moms?). They also have so much fun working together to build large towers with the blocks. They love to knock them down and start all over. A lot of the girls will often bring me elaborate meals prepared in the kitchen, and they are very good about cleaning up the dishes and washing them before putting them away. I love seeing their imaginations and hearing them interact together.

For our Easter Party we had a lot of fun. We made patterns with candy to make our own necklaces, then found Easter Eggs, and ended with bunny treats (carrots) and cupcakes.

Update

I am happy to say that we have completed the alphabet! The kids have done such a great job! We will be moving onto numbers after Spring Break! They have also been working very hard on learning to recognize larger numbers, and are doing a fantastic job. I just wanted to tell all the parents how proud I am of your kids, and how much I enjoy working with each one of them! Thank you.

Fire Station #1 Field Trip

We had so much fun on our field trip to the Fire Station. It was so great that Bodhi's dad could give us a tour. We got to see two fire trucks, a fire fighter in his uniform, and even an ambulance with the lights on. We had a great time!
Listening to the presentation on tools and toys. The kids were so great and sat and listened very well.
The firefighter showing the kids what they would look like in a fire.

Valentine's Day Party

We had a great time during our Valentine's Day Party this year. The kids did a great job making Valentine's for their parents, and then we read a few books. After that they got to play some games, make a necklace, and decorate a cookie. They were so excited to give out their Valentines, and many of them worked very hard to write their own name. I was very proud of them!! We had a great time and as always thanks to everyone for their help!We played a game where the kids had to count the number of hearts their beanbag landed on.
Making necklaces, trying to make patterns.

Playing Musical chairs
The kids looking through their Valentines!

M&M's Graphs

The kids did a fun activity where they got to graph the color of M&M's. They did such a great job!! They worked hard to place all their candies on their graphs and then color in the right number of squares. They especially enjoyed eating their M&M's when they were finished.
